Bernese Mountain Dog Picture

In the Bernese Mountain Dog picture, you’ll see a large and furry dog with a kind and intelligent expression in the eyes. These dogs are strong, agile, and endurable. Since this breed was designed for herding sheep and working independently, a well socialized and trained dog of this breed is able to make decisions when needed.

Bernese Mountain Dog picture galleries are easy to find on the Internet. There are many websites of breed clubs and devoted owners who are glad to share their joy of ownership such a wonderful pet. Most picture galleries feature dogs and puppies of standard coat coloration. The breed standard accepts only tricolor Bernese Mountain Dogs with a jet black ground color and rich tan and clear white symmetrical markings. Bernese Mountain Dogs have a typical pattern in which tan markings are placed over the eyes, on the cheeks, on the chest, under the tail and on all four legs. White patches form a blaze, a band around the muzzle, a cross on the chest and stockings on the feet. Other coat colors or markings are a serious fault in show quality dogs of this breed.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to see the wonderful personality of the breed in the Bernese Mountain Dog picture. Breed standards and descriptions cannot give a clear cut idea of what this breed is really like. Bred as multi-purpose farm dog, the Bernese Mountain Dog is very versatile and adaptive to any lifestyle. It can be good at a variety of tasks. These dogs are happy to work together with the owner and have fun along with the whole family.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are irrepressible and sensitive, biddable and stubborn. They like to test their owners and tend to dominate, if the owner cannot become a leader. These dogs have a zest for life and are ready to play any time of the day, but they are quick to respond to stress and anxiety of their owners. When left alone and not provided with enough attention, these dogs suffer from depression, like humans do. Many Bernese Mountain Dog picture galleries feature both dignified and fun-loving dogs of this breed and it’s difficult to believe they belong to the same breed.
